They told us we were disgusting. They said Portugal was carried by Ronaldo. They said we had no business being in the Final and that we would, for sure, lose. Well, we disgusted them with a victory. I am ready for those who will say we did not deserve it. That it was luck. Though, everyone who saw our goalkeeper play can tell you otherwise. Everyone that saw the strength of our team when our best player was forced to abandon the match can tell you that we fucking deserve it. We defended with all our might and knew how to take advantage of the times we had a chance to attack. I am so proud of you. Of the excellent coach we have. Of the best player in the world: Cristiano Ronaldo. Of Eder who scored and made Portugal the Europe’s Champion. Of Pepe who defended brilliantly. Of Renato Saches who showed the world what they newest generation has to offer. Of Nani who is, to this date, one of my favourite players in the world. I have to thank you all for the great joy you gave us tonight and for the smile you brought to the face of millions. You made history and we will honour your legacy the only way we know how: with pride.
